In the Excel report, the TM (Title Match) and its variations provide valuable insights into the relevance of search results based on keyword appearance in titles.
- TM (10) Metric: This value combines the number of Exact Match and Near Match titles within the top 10 search results. It helps you understand how many pages from these results directly address the query.
- Exact Match: If a title contains all the words from the query in the exact order, it is considered an Exact Match. For example, with the query “tripadvisor brussels restaurants,” a title like “THE 10 BEST Dinner Restaurants in Brussels – Tripadvisor” qualifies as an Exact Match since it includes all terms in order.
- Near Match: If a title includes some but not all keywords from the query or uses them in a different order, it’s classified as a Near Match. For instance, the title “THE 10 BEST Cheap Eats in Brussels – Tripadvisor” is a Near Match because it misses the word “restaurants.”
- Zero TM (10): When TM (10) is zero, it indicates an underserved query, similar to the “U” value in the user interface. This shows potential opportunities due to a lack of direct competition.
- High TM (10): A high TM (10) indicates many websites are targeting the query, signifying higher competition for that specific keyword.
These metrics help evaluate the competitive landscape and identify potential opportunities in keyword targeting.
