What’s the difference between a search with and without a wildcard (*)?

Using a wildcard (*) in your search can change the type of keyword ideas you receive:

  1. With Wildcard (“best bike for *”): This query structure prompts the tool to return keyword ideas that fit a specific pattern, such as “best bike for something.” It focuses on generating results with that exact phrase structure, making it useful for targeting a consistent format in search results.
  2. Without Wildcard (“best bike for”): Searching without the wildcard provides a broader range of keyword ideas. This means you’ll get varied results like “best 3 wheel bicycle for adults” or “best beach cruiser for women,” among others. Such searches allow you to explore a diverse set of keywords without restricting them to a specific phrase pattern.

Choose the method that aligns best with your goals, whether you’re targeting a specific phrase structure or casting a wider net for keyword ideas.
